Rouille D’ancre is a desaturated reddish orange, named after rusting anchors. The ink doesn’t shade much in writing and instead puts down homogenous tones, but washes of this ink reveal that the color dilutes to an adorable soft blush pink. While J.Herbin inks tend to be a bit dryer than other brands, I’ve found Rouille D’ancre to be particularly dry; I found it behaves best in a wet, bold nib and tends to thin or skip in extra fine pens.
